Ich habe gesehen, wie ein kleiner Junge, sechs oder sieben Jahre alt, dreimal mit der Reitpeitsche über seinen nackten bloßen Kopf geschlagen wurde, ehe ich dazwischentreten konnte, weil er mir ein Glas Wasser gereicht hatte, das nicht ganz sauber war. Und solche Handlungen werden von Leuten ausgeführt und verteidigt, die vorgeben, ihren Nächsten wie sich selbst zu lieben, welche an Gott glauben und welche beten, daß sein Wille auf Erden geschehe!
